Just a quick commercial for anyone interested in listening to real "oldies." Ever notice when listening to "oldies" stations on the radio that music from the '80s is suddenly being included? '80s music totally has its place but not with "oldies." As kids, my sister and I loved to listen to K-Earth 101.1 based out of Los Angeles and we would hear true classics from the late 1950s through about 1972. Now, music from the '50s rarely exists on the airwaves these days. Classic Rock stations are easier to find but real "oldies" are few and far between. I'm not sure if, in ten years, '90s music will be attaching itself to "oldies" stations too, but to avoid listening to music from decades that don't mix, I recommend Real Oldies (no longer called Real Oldies 1690). Although this station is based out of the Chicago area, it is available through live streaming online! If you are an iPhone user, download the free app called Check out Real Oldies here!
Hey beautiful what do we do now that Real Oldies 1690 is off the air? When did it go off air anyway? Great post btw
ReplyDeleteWell, you're right, the Real Oldies radio link is no longer working and I have no idea when that happened! The Real Oldies station (now apparently called Real Oldies - Rock and Roll's Greatest Hits) still plays through the iheartradio app on my phone. If you'd like to listen to that station online, here's the link: http://www.iheart.com/live/4717/
DeleteThanks for bringing this to my attention and I'll update the above post as well.
